JAMMU, Mar 31: In connection with the ongoing countrywide programmes being organized to celebrate the 400th Prakash Ustav of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur, BJP Minority Morcha, under its convenor, Gurdeep Singh Khalsa, organised a programme at Poonch town, wherein, rich tributes were paid and supreme sacrifices of this great Guru were recalled.
Jammu and Kashmir BJP, vice-president and Poonch Prabhari, Varinderjeet Singh, who is on two- day visit of the district, paid rich tributes to Guru Teg Bahadur and described him as a great Sikh Guru, who laid down his life for the protection of Hindu religion during the days when people were forced to convert to Islam by Mughal emperor Aurangzed.
He said that Guru Teg Bahudar’s sacrifice also set an example for others not to bow but fight till last breathe. Varinderjeet Singh said that the respect earned by Guru Ji Maharaj can be well judged from the fact that year long programmes are being organised by the Union Government, the BJP, the RSS and many other organizations across the country. People of every region, religion, caste and gender, are seen attending programmes being organized in honour of Guru Teg Bahadur, he added.
Gurdeep Singh Khalsa, spoke on different stages of the life of Guru Teg Bahudur and said that Sikh community feels proud to have such a great human being as their Guru who taught brotherhood and respect for others.
Surinder Singh, vice-president, District Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee, Poonch, also paid tributes and said that the young generation should be guided to learn about the supreme sacrifices of such Gurus, for whom respect for other religious and protecting the helpless people had been the mission of their life.
