BHADERWAH, June 7: Former Minister and sitting legislator from Bhaderwah, Mohd Sharief Niaz, accompanied by senior Congress leader, SP Parihar, Block president, Shabir Khan and sarpanchs and panchs, today inspected the ongoing work on Bhaderwah-Chamba road.
After visiting the site, Niaz held a series of meetings with the Executive Engineer, roads and Buildings (R&B) and Deputy Project Manager of the executing agency. The officials briefed the legislator about the quality of material used in the construction of road and pace of work.
Niaz asked the officials not to compromise with the quality of material used for the purpose and directed them to complete the work before August 15, 2012.
Later Niaz visited Chinta, Sharkehi, Jae, Chanchora, Kari Chatra, Ghureka and assessed the damage occurred to crops due to heavy snowfall in a meeting with the local representatives of the area. The locals also complained about the non-payment of compensation of the land acquired by PWD for widening of road.
Niaz assured them that all their grievances will be settled at the earliest.
The former Minister also inaugurated an upgraded High School of the area.
