Jammu, Apr 2: While releasing the film Who Am I here, today Dr. Rohit Koul, the Director and CEO of People’s Hut Foundation said “As a Kashmiri Pandit community, the tears of moving away from our own land, the sadness of facing the exodus, we Kashmiri Pandits have still joined hands together to revive our language, culture traditions and literature”. As a community where each and every one of us face the identity crisis, “Who Am I” have still been working to pass our literature, culture, language and traditions to our next generation.
Dr. Koul said that the movie “WHO AM I” has won many Awards and Honours and it included “honourable mention” in Athens International Monthly Art Film Festival 2022, Diana Cinema Perikleous 14, Marousi Athens, Attica, Greece. The movie has three official selections in “The Lift-off Global Sessions” 2022 Awards Category.
Tarun Uppal, chairperson Nirbhay Bharat Foundation said “Who Am I” is just not three words, it is just not the pain of three generations, it is the pain of about seven generations and perhaps many more generations to come, depicted in the style where every frame, every shot speaks of about the Kashmiri Pandit lives, the voices you will hear are heartfelt pain and joys, the music you listen to is all about our moving on in life. As a filmmaker, As a Kashmiri Pandit, Sanjay Raina and lakhs of KPs have lived each and every moment of pain and happiness and each and every shot of the film is a depiction of what he feels and what other Kashmiri Pandits across the globe feel.
Rajan Gupta, State president of Sarv Shakti Sena while talking about the producer and director of the film Sanjay Raina said he is an international award winning Filmmaker and one of the new generation filmmaker based in New Delhi professionally affiliated with media as a filmmaker.
Sanjay Raina Director and Producer of the film also spoke on the occasion and said Who am I is an experimental film which shows how the Kashmiri Pandits have revived their language, culture , traditions and literature.
