DODA, Apr 2: Two persons were booked for cultivating cannabis.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Doda led by SHO Inspector Arun Parkash and assisted by SI Mohammad Shafi conducted raid in Babore area and booked two persons, who were involved in illegal cultivation of poppy straw.
A case under FIR Number 54/2022 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Doda and investigation started.
A police official informed that as per Section 8 of NDPS Act, “No person shall cultivate the opium, poppy or any cannabis.
He has warned the farmers to desist from such illegal/banned cultivation, else stringent action will be taken, if any landowner will be found involved in such illegal cultivation.
