JAMMU, Apr 3: To promote religious and historic tourism in Jammu city and inculcate spiritualism amongst the masses, Jammu and Kashmir Religious, Tourism, Culture and Heritage today launched a Grand Parikrama Yatra of historic temples located in the City of Temples today, which was joined by sadhus, priests, devotees and caretakers of various historic and important temples of Jammu City along with the executive members of J&K Dharmarth Trust.

Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Raghav Langar joined them in special prayers at Shri Raghunath ji Temple, after which he flagged off the Parikrama Yatra. Deepika Kumari Sharma Executive Director Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society Jammu, Vivekanand Rai Director Tourism Jammu, Naresh Kumar Deputy Director Tourism Jammu, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn Additional Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Kulbir Handa SP North Jammu, Ritu Singh (president J&K FICCI FLO Chapter) besides Advocate Ajay Gandotra (president, J&K Dharmarth Trust) and Dr Gopal Parthasarthi Sharma (secretary J&K Dharmarth Trust) were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Raghav Langar, said that the initiation of this tradition of Parikrama Yatra by Mahant Rajesh Bittu and his entire team is a welcome step in spreading the message of peace, religion and spirituality. A book written by Prateek and Manik Gupta, briefing about history of these temples, was also released on the occasion.
Shri Annapurna Sewa Bank Trust welcomed the Yatra at Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex Mandir. The Trust had also organized a Langar for the devotees and attendees of the Yatra. The entire city’s atmosphere was charged and reverberated with religious slogans when the Yatra passed through Peerkho Temple via Residency Road and touched Shri Krishan Rukmani Temple, Chintpurni Temple, Balram ji Temple via Circular Road, Billu Temple, Gadhadhari Temple via Mubark Mandi Heritage Complex, Ranbireshwar Temple via Kachi Chawni-Parade Road and finally culminated at Hanuman ji Temple Gumat Bazar Jammu.
J&K Dharmarth Trust had also arranged special prayers in all these temples, in which the local people of the area also participated with great enthusiasm and welcomed the Yatra by showering flowers and chanting Jai Shree Ram. The civil and police administration had also made arrangements for smooth conduct of the event.
Prominent amongst those who participated in the Grand Parikrama include chairman J&K Religious, Tourism, Culture & Heritage Mahant Rajesh Bittu, Advisor Raman Sur, besides members of CCI Jammu and various Bazar Associations.
