DG BSF reviews operational preparedness of troops in Kashmir

Visits forward area of Z-Gali in Kupwara

Srinagar, Apr 3: Director General (DG) Border Security Force (BSF), Pankaj Kumar Singh today reviewed the operational preparedness of its troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir.

The DG along with Special DG BSF Western Command, P V Rama Shastri and Inspector General BSF Kashmir frontier, Raja Babu Singh, visited the forward area of Z-Gali in Kupwara sector this morning.
He was briefed about the prevailing operational scenario and the preparations for the coming months at 53 Infantry Brigade by Colonel Mayank Shukla and A K Vidyarthi, DIG, Kupwara and Commandant 140th Battalion of BSF, Devender Kumar, about the BSF deployment around LoC.
The officers gave him detailed account of the security scenario prevailing along the LoC and the possible attempts of infiltration by the militants in the sector. He was told that the BSF deployed along the sector is ready to foil such designs and there is complete synergy between Army and BSF.
The DG BSF expressed his happiness on the operational preparedness of the troops. He interacted with them and got a first hand idea of the prevailing situation and issues concerning men.
He was apprised about the hardships being faced by the troops while working on high altitude and also the zeal and enthusiasm of the troops in performing their tasks.
