People thwart designs of disruptive forces: NCP

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Aug 25: Former Minister and State president of Nationalist Congress Party (J&K) Thakur Randhir Singh  has said that despite the attempt of  some vested interests to create wedge in the society and break the secular fabric and peaceful atmosphere in the State in the form of  unfortunate  Kishtwar incident, the people of the State have exhibited maturity and given a loud message to the disruptive forces that all stand united at the times of crisis.
In a press statement issued here today, Mr Singh said that NCP leaders R S Billowaria and Gaurav Kapoor who were part of all party delegation to the troubled areas including Kishtwar and Rajouri etc, briefed him about the unfortunate developments. He said it is highly laudable that no black-lash was unleashed despite many provocations, rumours and canards spread by the vested interests. He said peace, harmony  and amicable settlement are the fundamental elements but administration is primarily a regulatory factor. However, it is the people who matter and whose will prevails.
Mr Singh said that we shall all be failing in our responsibility if we do not address some critical issues impinging upon the fragile and sensitive landscape of the Chenab valley as a whole in terms of people’s aspirations. In the aftermath of  unfortunate Kishtwar incident which was an unsuccessful attempt to shake the secular ethos  and fabric of Jammu division, however, gives us  a strong basis to introspect about the malaise and to send a clear and loud message to the disruptive forces that people in Jammu region stand united to thwart any such attempt. He said Jammu region bore the brunt of challenges and miseries unparalleled in human history  and provocative to such an extent to generate hatred, disbelief and mistrust on caste, creed  and religious lines right from partition but people of Jammu never buckled  under such evil designs.
