Mustafa Kamaal visits flood hit villages

JAMMU, Aug 25:National Conference additional general secretary Dr Mustafa Kamaal visited several areas of Hiranagar for assessing damage caused due to recent floods and heavy rains.
He visited Haripur Sainia, Salalpur, Chhaba Chak and Kote –Punnu habitations which are last villages on the J&K border with neighbouring Punjab and are situated on the bank of Ujh Nallah.
Addressing locals at these places, Dr Kamaal assured them that protection works on Ujh Nallah, Baen Nallah, Tarna Nallah and Baag Nallah will be the priority so that such tragedies are averted in future.
He also assured people full compensation for damage to land, crops, property, livestock and public utility services like roads, bridges, culverts, PHE.
At Kot Punnu, the NC leader assured upgradation of the Government High School, opening of a PHC and BPL survey for IAY type financial assistance for all those cases who live in Kucha houses of these habitations. Adequate deep hand pumps shall be recommended because shallow tube well water is unfit for consumption, he said and added that replacing of defunct electric sub –stations will be taken up with PDD.
Dr Kamaal was accompanied by Rattan Lal Gupta, ex-MLA Dyan Chand, Mohd Farooq Mughal (Political Advisor to Dr Mustafa Kamaal), Dharampal Kundal, Bharti Sharma, Davinder Singh Bindu, Tarseem Singh, Gopal Singh, Purshotam, Sham Lal Mehra and others.
Dr Kamaal assured the women folk of Bubiya village that their case for financial assistance for their Kaccha houses will be taken up on priority with the Government.
The NC leaders appealed all to maintain communal harmony and peace at all costs and not play in the hands of divisive forces which were hell bent to create disharmony and disorder.
