JAMMU, Apr 7: The Department of FCS & CA along with the teams from Legal Metrology, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Police Department here today inspected various shops and other eateries at Talab Khatikan, Residency Road, Hari Market and Gujjar Nagar areas.
The entire operation was led by Assistant Director FCS & CA Jammu, Alka Misra to check the display of rate lists, sale of substandard materials, use of domestic LPG cylinders at various meat and other shops along with eateries and other business outlets etc during the holy month of Ramdan and auspicious days Navratras.
The erring traders were fined Rs. 20,000 by FCS & CA for violation of provisions under Essential Commodities Act while JMC also fined the erring traders of Rs. 10,000.
The violators were instructed to follow proper consumer friendly ways in running the business and follow proper rules and regulations laid by the authorities.
