JAMMU, Apr 8: Miran Sahib, Bishnah and Arnia Police arrested six persons with large quantity of illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Miran Sahib laid a naka at Marallian Morh and intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK02BW-5182.
During checking, police team recovered 58 bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Harpal Singh, son of Isher Singh, a resident of Ward Number 2 Simbal Camp Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu.
Meanwhile, the similar team also laid a naka at Kotli Mian Fateh and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02CN-3823.
During checking, police team recovered 90 bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Keemat Ram, son of Kala Ram of Kothey Chorli Tehsil Bishnah District Jammu.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Bishnah arrested three persons along with 166 bottles of illicit liquor, which they were selling among the people to make illegitimate profits.
The arrested persons were identified as Rohit Kumar, son of Rakesh Kumar of Tehsil Mukerian District Hosiharpur Punjab, at present Taali Morh Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu, Tilak Singh, son of Sawan Singh of Chak Avtara Tehsil Bishnah District Jammu and Sujaan Singh, son of Harbans Singh of Jallo Chak District Jammu.
In another similar case, a team from Police Station Arnia laid a naka and intercepted a man, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 15 bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Kishore Kumar, son of Babu Ram, a resident of Arnia District Jammu.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Miran Sahib, Bishnah and Arnia and investigation started.
Police teams led by SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Mirza Sultan, SHO Bishnah Inspector Vinod Kundal and SHO Arnia Inspector Tilak Raj Sharma made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh.
