LADAKH, Apr 8: Administration of Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh has ordered a hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) payable to the employees working in the UT from the existing rate of 31 per cent to 34 per cent of the basic pay with effect from January 1, 2022.
The order cleared that the basic pay means the pay drawn in the prescribed Level in the Pay Matrix as per Seventh Pay Commission recommendations but does not include any other type of pay like special pay etc.
It further stated that the DA will continue to be a distinct element of remuneration and will not be treated as pay within the ambit of FR9 (21).
The order also mentioned that payment on account of DA involving fractions of 50 paisa and above may be rounded to the next higher rupee and the fractions of less than 50 paisa may be ignored.
The payment of arrears of DA shall not be made before the date of disbursement of salary of March 2022.
