JAMMU, Aug 26: Bari Brahmana police today arrested a truck thief and a recipient of stolen property and recovered eight tyres and rims of trucks from their possession.
The truck thief has been identified as Rajesh Kumar son of Chotu Ram R/o village Chowki, Nowshera. The recipient of stolen tyres, who has also been arrested, was identified as Sonu son of Mohammad Nazir R/o Raya Morh.
Police said Rajesh Kumar had stolen three trucks bearing Nos. 5797 JK02G, 7545 JK02D and 8655 JK02G from the parking of Railway Station. However, he used to abandon the truck after removing their tyres. The tyres were sold to Sonu.
He had sold eight tyres of three trucks to Sonu, all of which have been recovered by the police.
Police have registered a case against the truck thief and recipient of stolen property at Bari Brahmana police station for further investigations.
Police parties headed by SHO Bari Brahmana Inspector Arun Jamwal made the arrests and recoveries.
