UDHAMPUR, Apr 10: All J&K Gaddi Sabha here today celebrated its 41st Foundation Day with enthusiasm.
Hundreds of members of tribal Gaddi community from across the country participated in the celebrations.
At the very beginning of the function floral tribute were paid to the founder president of Sabha, Late Thakur Dass and founder vice president, Late Devi Ram Chouhan and a two minute silence was observed in their respect.
Ex-MLA Bani, Jeevan Lal was chief guest on this occasion while Pinky Devi, DDC Latti-Marothi; DDC Narsoo, Subash Chander and DDC Bani, Kishore Lal were guests of honour.
Famous singer from Himachal Pradesh, Thakur Singh Rehloo along with his team and Brother’s Band from Shawpur Himachal presented cultural items in Gaddi dialect highlighting the real life of Gaddi people residing in remote corners of Himachal Pradesh and UT of J&K.
Prominent personalities of Gaddi community were felicitated and presented shawls and awards for their achievements in different fields and their contribution for uplifting the community.
Meritorious students of the community were given certificates.
Those who spoke this occasion were B.K Charak, Kuldeep Kumar, Hans Raj, Pars Ram, Dr. R.D Chark, Kewal Krishan, Sarpanch Bimal Kumar, Kuldeep Raj, Sarpanch, Prem Chand and Parveen Jaryal.
Kuldeep Kumar, youth president of Sabha presented vote of thanks.
