REASI, Aug 26: Police has registered a case against Naib Teshildar, Girdawar and Patwari Halqa Reasi for selling Government land illegally for their pecuniary gains.
SSP Reasi, Raghubir Singh said that on the receipt of a specific complaint that revenue documents of Government land bearing Khasra No.1075 situated at village Mari was misplaced by the officials of the Revenue Department deliberately, the DDC Reasi constituted a team for demarcation of Government land.
However, the team, while confirming that the revenue record pertaining to the land was missing, expressed its inability to demarcate the land. Accordingly, Reasi Police registered a case and started investigation.
During the course of enquiry, police collected power of attorney from the court of Sub-Registrar Reasi annexed with farads prepared by Patwari Halqa Reasi, certified by the Girdawar and attended by Naibh Tehsildar. From these documents it came to fore that Naib Tehsildar in league with Girdawar, Patwari and others misused their official position, prepared farads for their pecuniary gains and succeeded in selling the Government land falling under Khasra No.1075 illegally.
“The investigation is going on and involvement of other officers/officials of Revenue Department cannot be ruled out”, the SSP said.
