UDHAMPUR, Apr 11: A Tempo with fake registration numbers was seized by Traffic Police at Jakhani, here today.
The Tempo, carrying Registration number JK11-3934 and being driven by Manzoor Hussain, son of Abdul Rashid of Nomain, Katra Reasi, was stopped for checking by a Traffic Police team, led by DySP Himmat Singh.
The Tempo Chassis number and Engine number did not tally with E-Challan details. The vehicle was registered in the name of Mohd Riaz, son of Mohd Sharief of Beragoa, Tatapani Kalakote, Rajouri. However, the Chassis number was found registered with the Tempo number PBO1-9464 with the owners name Kishan, son of Ram Paul of near MP Di Kothi, Medha Majra, Partap Nagar Nangal Rupnagar.
The Traffic Police seized the Tempo on the spot and handed over the case to Udhampur Police Station where an FIR under relevant section was registered against driver Manzoor Hussain and Susheel Choudhary, son of Subash Choudhary of Chakroi R S Pura for using fake number plate.
Pertinent to mention that Traffic Police in Udhampur has so far seized total seven vehicles with fake registration numbers, which included five Tempos, one Scorpio and one Creta.
