JAMMU, Apr 12: As birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar is coming on April 14, 2022, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta here today inaugurated the upgraded Ambedkar Chowk Rotary.
Raj Kumar, Chairman Public Health & Sanitation Committee of JMC; Rahul Kumar, JMC Councillor of Ward 20; Mohinder Kumar Bhagat, Councillor of Ward 61; Gharu Ram Bhagat, Ex-MLA; Manohar Lal, Jammu District president of S.C Morcha; Rachit Khosla, Gandhi Nagar Mandal secretary and others were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion the Mayor said that Baba Sahib worked for up-liftment of poor, backward and downtrodden families irrespective of their caste, creed or religion.
He said, with the hectic efforts of the local Councillor, the much needed work of up-gradation of rotary by way of laying granite, installation of steel railings and other allied works has been completed by PWD with an estimated cost of Rs. 17 lakh only.
The Mayor also said that JMC in collaboration with other departments has already taken up the job of renovation and beautification of all the rotaries in Jammu city in phased manner and appealed to the general public to cooperate JMC in all development activities in different parts of the city.
Raj Kumar urged upon the people of Jammu to cooperate Health wing of JMC in the ongoing drive of thermal fogging to bring down mosquito density in summer season.
