Husband, accomplice arrested for killing housewife

JAMMU, Apr 13: Akhnoor Police worked out a blind murder case of a lady with the arrest of her husband and his accomplice.
As per police sources, on March 26 this year an unidentified female dead body was found lying at Bhagwana Chak under suspicious circumstances. Since the circumstances leading to her death were suspicious, therefore, to ascertain the cause of her death inquest proceeding under Section 174 CrPC was initiated by Jourian Police.
During the course of enquiry, FSL and dog squad teams were called, which inspected the spot.
The deceased was later identified as Daleep Kumari, wife of Basant Shaw, a resident of Chhattisgarh, at present Bawetalab Kanachak District Jammu.
Based on technical inputs and statements of experts, it came to fore that deceased had died due to strangulation and accordingly the inquest was converted into a case registered under FIR Number 85/2022 under Section 302 IPC with Police Station Akhnoor.
On further investigation, it further came to fore that deceased was married to Basant Sahu around 7 to 8 months back and there was matrimonial dispute going on between them.
The husband was rounded up who confessed that he alongwith his friend Dinesh Sahu, son of Bhagirath Sahu of Chattisgarh strangulated his wife to death. Accordingly both the accused were arrested.
Based on disclosure of accused and confessions before the Magistrate besides pointing out memo, some seizures were also made by police corroborating the incident.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar worked out the blind murder case under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial, SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma and SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli.
