JAMMU, Aug 27: Senior BJP leader Chaman Lal Kanathia today criticized the Government for delaying the compensation to flood and hailstorm hit people of the Jammu region in general and Akhnoor tehsil in particular.
In a statement issued here, today Mr Kanathia urged the Revenue authorities to make assessment of the loss immediately be deputing its officials in the flood and rain hit areas where the residential houses collapsed and standing crops were destroyed completely.
He said the people in Akhnoor belt have suffered a heavy loss after their standing crops of maize, paddy etc were damaged by hail storm and rains but the Government till date has failed to assess the loss and pay compensation to the people.
