JAMMU, Apr 13: Former Minister and Ex MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) distributed free ration under PMGKAY (Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Ann Yojana) amongst dozens of needy families at Kabir Nagar area of Talab Tillo, Janipur Colony and Patoli area of Ward 39 in the programmes organized under party’s ongoing Samajik Nyay Pakhwada.
The programmes were organized by local corporators Sunita Gupta and Neelam Nargotra with assistance of Mandals. District president, Munish Khajuria, BJP treasurer, Prabhat Singh, Mandal presidents, Keshav Chopra and Raveesh Mengi, district general secretaries, Karan Sharma and Ajay Manhas and several others were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that the Modi Government is bearing the entire cost of such distribution including food subsidy, intra-State transportation and dealer’s margin and additional dealers margin, without any sharing by States/UT’s.
He said the Modi Government is committed to provide free ration amongst the needy and as a responsible activist of the party we have created ward wise teams for checking that the deserving people are getting the ration under the scheme, he added. He stated that BJP has also decentralized its team upto booth level in all districts of J&K.
He stated that Congress ruled for decades but could not end poverty from the country but PM Narendra Modi right from his election has worked hard to eradicate poverty from the country and in just seven years he reached out to every household through various Central schemes which has improved the lifestyle of the masses.
He also stated that free ration has been made available to more than 80 crore people across the country through the scheme which did not allow the country’s poverty level to increase despite the pandemic and resultant lockdown, he added.
Munish Khajuria,district president of the party said that BJP is committed to assist masses in every way possible and everything is being done to provide food to the needy in these tough times under the flagship scheme of PMGKAY.
