JDU’s concern over price hike

JAMMU, Apr 14: Janata Dal United (JDU)State president, G M Shaheen and its general secretary, Sanjay Dhar have expressed grave concern over the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities which has broken the back of common man.
In a joint statement they said that price hike has crushed the middle class which is totally perturbed over daily hike in the essential commodities.
They said no poor consumer can afford Rs 1005 for the gas cylinder and the gas cylinders provide to people under much talked about Ujwala scheme remain unable to refill as these hapless people can’t afford to pay over Rs 1000 for the same. They said the prices of petrol , diesel, pulses and other essentials have touched sky breaking the back of the common masses who toil from morning till evening to earn their two times meal.
They said that the Government should work out a strategy to give relief to common masses from such hike in prices of essential commodities and demanded slashing the water, electricity and other taxes to give respite to common man.
