Absconder nabbed after 16 years

DODA, April 15: Gandoh Police today arrested an absconder who was wanted in a murder case and was evading arrest for last 16 years.
“The absconder identified as Prem Lal son of Roop Chand, resident of Sanwara (tehsil Gandoh), was wanted in criminal cases bearing FIR Number 42/2006 under Sections 302, 109 RPC and FIR Number 18/2006 under Section 323, 325 RPC which were registered against him at Police Station Gandoh and challaned was issued in the Court of Law,” a police spokesman said.
He said the accused was evading arrest for the last 16 years but he was ultimately arrested today from Bantalab area of Jammu after a police team headed by SHO Police Station Gandoh Vikram Singh along with PSI Parvez Ahmed raided the place on receiving specific information about his presence.
The accused was produced before the Court where from he was sent to District Jail Bhaderwah, the spokesman added.
