JAMMU, Apr 16: In order to discuss the prevailing situation of Kashmir Valley, viz-a-viz the safety and security of minorities living there, Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) organized a community meet here, today. The meeting was presided over by the president of the organisation R K Bhat.

Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Lal Hangloo, former Vice Chancellor Allahabad University, was the chief guest on the occasion, Prof. A. N Sadhu, B L Saraf, retired Principal District and Session Judge, ex MLC Ajay Bharti, B L Bhat – Chairman SRMA, Ravinder Raina – president Panun Kashmir (PK), Kuldeep Pandita – president Thinkers Forum, Kashi Akoon – GKPD were the guests of honour. The prominent KPs who participated included M K Bangroo, senior journalist, Sundari Lal, Ashok Dhar, Anil Bhat PTI Bureau Chief Jammu, Prof. R K Ganjoo, Ravi Mahaldar, Mohan Lal Comrade etc. The event was also attended by large numbers of the community youth.
The chief guest Prof. Rattan Lal Hangloo in his address said “Despite being uprooted, we should not forget to contribute our roots the way we have been doing it,. But to take our long battle to its logical conclusion we must cohesively support the leadership of R K Bhat. He was also of the opinion to fight community struggle without getting affiliated to any political party or source.
Prof. A N Sadhu said “Our activities should not dilute our mission in reconnecting our roots. Ajay Bharti said it’s a continuous process to drag out the anti national activities from Kashmir Valley and it will take some more time and our party will not leave any stone unturned to have honourable return of Kashmiri Pandits.
R K Bhat while addressing said, it is high time for Indian Government to come forward for the rescue of exiled community and to rehabilitate them in their land of origin -Kashmir. “We want direct action programme rather lip sympathy and false assurances. The nation is now asking the Government of India to come up with a comprehensive return and rehabilitation plan for the displaced community to resettle them in their motherland. The Government cannot run away from their responsibilities”.
He said “We demand that the Valley posted migrant employees who are under the grip of fear may not be compelled to resume their respective duties for time being ”. “The employees living outside the campus must be taken to safe zones and provided better accommodation with safety. More jobs be created for leftover candidates besides the rehabilitation of the over-aged section of the community who are worst sufferers”, he added.
He also demanded, constitution of an Apex Committee of displaced community leadership under the chairmanship of Home Minister of India on return.
