SAMBA, Apr 17: Going ahead with its philanthropic endeavour, Shaheed Parivar Fund of Hind Samachar and Punjab Kesari Group on the second consecutive day today, held the second relief camp distributing relief among border dwellers during a simple and impressive function held at BSF Post Kandral of Ramgarh Sector.
The distribution camp was organized by District Development Council (DDC) member Ramgarh, Sarabjit Singh Johal in which kitchen kits comprising wheat flour and rice were distributed among 300 needy families of the area on the occasion.
DDC Member, Sarabjit Singh Johal who led the Shaheed Parivar Fund was accompanied by Varinder Sharma, in charge Shaheed Parivar Fund. Today’s relief of 300 bags of kitchen kits were provided by Vikram Jalota, brother of famous Indian singer, Anup Jalota.
While addressing the gathering, Johal said that relief material was distributed among 300 families in BSF Post Kandral of Ramgarh Sector and its adjoining areas. He said that Shaheed Parivar Fund is providing an assistance of Rs one lakh per family to the families of martyrs.
The DDC member said that the main patron behind providing relief material for border dwellers is Padma Shri Vijay Chopra. He complimented the Shaheed Parivar Fund management for sending relief material for the past more than 22 years to the border dwellers. He said that this relief will be distributed among 300 families of Kandral and its adjoining areas.
Johal informed that Pankaj Udhas, famous Indian playback singer, on the request of Vikram Jalota, has decided to hold musical programme on the border village on the forthcoming famed annual fair of Baba Chamliyal on Indo -Pak International border in Ramgarh Sector.
While complementing the organizers for arranging and holding these type of events, Vikram Jalota said that in the present scenario, philanthropy has become the need of the hour and noble and blessed people have always come forward to extend support to the needy people.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were BDC Chairman, Darshan Choudhary, Hazara Singh, Balwinder Singh, Sewa Singh, Ch Roop Lal and Ramesh Lal.
