Health Camp held at UPHC Nishat

Srinagar, Apr 18: On the directions from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, a mega block health mela under Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav was held at the urban Primary Health Centre, Nishat today.
The mela was inaugurated by Muhammad Aijaz Asad, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar in presence of Aftab Malik, DDC Chairman, Srinagar, officials from GMC Srinagar, CMO Srinagar, Drug & Food Control Organisation and PRIs.
The camp organized by Block Medical Officer, Hazratbal, Department Of Social And Preventive Medicine, Government Medical College, Srinagar showcased various health activities being carried out by Block Hazratbal and various stalls were installed and thronged by hundreds of patients visiting health mela.
The stalls were established by the department of AYUSH J&K, Drug and Food Control Organization, National TB Elimination Programme, Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine, ICDS Project, and Physiotherapy.
Stalls for registration of PMJAY golden cards, ABHA cards, e-sanjivini, Non-Communicable Disease (NPCDCS) were also installed while over nine hundred patients were seen by specialists and super-specialists from the department of Surgery, ENT, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Endocrinology from Government Medical College, Srinagar even as free diagnostics, USG and medicines were also provided.
On the occasion, a poster competition was conducted which was participated by doctors and MBBS students of Government Medical College, Srinagar.
The top three position holders were felicitated by DC with medals. The winners include Ulfat and Mehak (gold), Sumedha and Irham Wani (silver) and Dr Labeeb Farooq (bronze).
The ASHAs of Block Hazratbal presented a skit on NCDs. The mock drill was conducted by 108 ambulance and food analysis was demonstrated in Food Safety Testing Van by the Food Safety Unit of the department of food and drug control organization.
