JAMMU, Aug 28: A group of 15 girl students of various schools, hailing from remote villages of Srinagar and Budgam districts of the Kashmir valley, today visited Jammu as part of an educational-cum-motivations tour under the ongoing “Operation Sadhbhavana”.
Brig JS Rajpurohit, Station Commander, Jammu Garrison, welcomed the students on their arrival. As part of the tour, the school children visited various defence establishments of the Army and Air Force located at Jammu, including the Tiger Division and the Air Force Station. The students were wonder-struck, at the awesome and inspiring experience, of a ride on Army Tanks.
The students visited the Air Force Station Jammu thereafter, wherein they were received by the AOC Air Commodore PE Patange, YSM, on arrival. The students were taken on a tour of various establishments of the airbase such as the air traffic control tower, as well as a helicopter unit, to get an idea as to the functioning of an Air Force Station.
The AOC Air commodore also distributed sweets to the children on behalf of the Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) and wished them all the best for the future.
In the afternoon, the students were taken to various places of interest in Jammu, and for a picnic at the historical Bagh-e-Bahu. They also got a chance to visit a shopping mall, as well as the Jammu Railway Station. The students were also shown a movie at the Tiger Auditorium of Jammu Garrison.
