REASI, Apr 19: District Police Reasi today booked a notorious drug peddler under Public Safety Act (PSA) and lodged him in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu.
The detainee, identified as Talib Hussain, son of Noor Alam of Sirla Bhagga Reasi was found involved in drug peddling case FIR number 41/2020, under section 8/22 NDPS Act, FIR number 60/2021 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act, and FIR number 142/2021 under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act of Police station Reasi.
Besides drug peddling cases, Talib was also found involved in case FIR number 33/2019 under section 435/457 RPC, 4/25 Arms Act, and case FIR number 78/2022 under section 279/304 A IPC of Police Station Reasi. He was also booked under preventive sections 110 CrPC and 36 Police Act in 2021.
On the directions of SSP Reasi, Amit Gupta, his dossiers for Public Safety Act was framed and sent for necessary detention order. Today by the order of Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Talib was arrested and lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu under Public Safety Act.
