JAMMU, Apr 25: After abrogation of Article 370, the Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi visited Jammu first time on the occasion of Panchayati Raj Day but it’s unfortunate that he didn’t speak a single word towards the burning issues of J&K including restoration of statehood, unemployment, inflation and economic slowdown.
This was stated by Manish Sahni, president J&K Shiv Sena unit while addressing a press conference at Party’s Central Office, here today. Sahni said that the PM had promised to give the gift of prosperity to the people of Jammu and Kashmir under him but on the contrary, by talking about only development projects, he ignored the aspirations of a common man.
“Even the state holiday was not announced on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh which was deeply connected with the sentiments of the people of Jammu as the same has been promised by the J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha,” Sahni said. He said the most burning issues of the UT are to make temporary employees permanent and to implement Minimum Wages Act but the PM preferred to maintain silence on these issues.
