UDHAMPUR, Apr 27: President of All Jammu and Kashmir Thakur Sabha, Kuldeep Singh Thakur along with his team visited Panchayats Pattangarh and Gharian Khurd in tehsil Chenani and held meetings with the locals for highlighting issues of the Thakur community.
The main agenda of the meetings was to aware the Thakur community, particularly in remotest and far-flung areas of hilly belts where the parents are least bothered about the education of their daughters due to certain unjustified and baseless factors.
The Sabha President gave assurance to Thakur Biradri that it would stand shoulder to shoulder with the community to assist the girls for their education. Educated daughters are the future of coming generations in the society, he added and informed that in the recently declared 10th standard JKBOSE Examination for winter zone session, two Thakur daughters namely Manyia Thakur and Maneesha Thakur of Gharian Khurd Tehsil Chenani of District Udhampur had secured 96 and 92 percent marks and they were honoured with cash prize by All Jammu and Kashmir Thakur Sabha today in their village.
Menace of smoking, drinking and drugs addiction were also discussed in the meetings and the villagers were suggested to keep check on their children, especially the adolescents by creating awareness in them through proper guidance and motivation.
Senior vice President Ranbir Singh Thakur,Vice President Inder Singh Thakur, Retd. Nand Lal Thakur, Jagdish Singh Thakur, Jewan Kumar Magotra, Jagdish Singh Thakur, Kuldeep Singh Thakur, Baldev Singh, Abijeet Thakur, Jatinderjeet Thakur and others shared their views in meetings.
