RAJOURI, Apr 27: Thanamandi Police today foiled several bovine smuggling bids and rescued 33 bovine animals.
“The bovines were rescued during naka checking when they were being transported illegally from Rajouri towards Buffliaz,” Police sources said while adding that five smugglers were also arrested.
The arrested smugglers were identified as Manzoor Hussain son of Kaka of Lah, Ghulam Nabi son of Miya, Mohd Bashir son of Ghulam Nabi, Mohd Shrief son of Ghulam Nabi and Manzoor Hussain son of Ghulam Nabi, all residents of Khablan.
In this regard, four different cases vide FIR numbers 49/2022, 50/2022, 51/2022, 52/2022 and 53/2022 U/S 188 IPC 11 PCA Act were registered at Police Station Thanamandi.
The whole operation was conducted by a police team led by SHO Thannamandi Inspector Shoket Hussain under the supervision of SDPO Thannamandi Imtiaz Choudhary.
