JAMMU, Apr 28: Police on Thursday blasted improvised explosive device found along Sidhra-Kunjwani bye-pass road on Jammu-Srinagar national highway here in the city outskirts.
“On receiving information about the presence of IED near Mahamaya Forest area along Sidhra-Kunjwani byepass road, police team with its Bomb Disposal Squad rushed to the spot,” Chandan Kohli, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu said.
He said that the traffic was immediately suspended and the Bomb Disposal Squad blasted the device on the spot. “The IED was found in a bag abandoned along the roadside,” said the SSP adding that the traffic resumed later.
Earlier, one live Chinese grenade was recovered from the site of April 22 Sunjuwan encounter site. (Agencies)
