Over 500 people avail services during day- long Health Mela in Block Sohanjana

JAMMU, Apr 28: Around 550 people drawn from various parts of Block Sohanjana availed free health services during a day-long Health Mela held today under the supervision of Director General, Health and Family Welfare Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman.
The Health Mela was inaugurated by Geetu Aulakh, DDC Member along with Abhishek Abrol, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Jammu South. The other dignitaries who visited the Mela were Tehsildar Mandal, Naib Tehsildar Jammu South, BDC Chairman Madan Lal along with BDC Members, Sarpanchs, Panchs, Health Staff members of Block Sohanjana, ASHA workers of Block Sohanjana, etc.
People from different areas of the Block attended the Health Mela, the main attraction of which were health check up by various specialists, drug dispensing, eye check up, yoga camp, on spot Golden Card generation, Ayushman Bharat, E-Sanjeevani consultation, Basic Life Support Training, Lab Test for NCD and Anaemia, Blood Donation camp, CBNAT Testing, besides services given by ICDS and Food & Drugs Safety Department. The consultants provided consultations for Gynae, Surgery, Paediatrics, Medicine, ENT and Opthamology.
A ‘nukkad natak’ was presented on the occasion by ASHAs on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’. In total, 550 people were provided free consultation and testing as well as medicines. Fifty Ayushman cards were distributed to the general public and 16 people were tested for TB by CBNAT prodedure.
The camp concluded with vote of thanks presented by Block Medical Officer Dr Sumir Kaul to all the dignitaries as well as general public.
