REASI, Apr 28: A major fire broke out on in the forest belt of Marhi area, near Jyotipuram Colony and Bidda of Reasi district, resulting in the destruction of trees and other forest material.
The forest fire spread to several acres of land in the compartment number 34 & 35 by the evening. As per locals, the fire was spreading very fast towards residential areas in Jyotipuram and Bidda.
The administration has sounded an alert in this regard and efforts were being made to control the blazes from spreading further.
