SAMBA, Apr 28: District Police Samba foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing four bovines and arrested a bovine smuggler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
Acting on an information received through reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a police party of PS Ghagwal during surprise vehicle check point near Main Chowk NHW Ghagwal, intercepted a Tata Mobile load carrier bearing Registration No. JK08H/8124 for its checking.
During checking, four bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission which were tied in a cruel manner.
The driver of the vehicle namely Shakeel Ahmed, son of Nawab Din of Rathian tehsil and district Udhampur has been arrested and the vehicle was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 64/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered in Police Station Ghagwal.
