SRINAGAR, Apr 28: Pursuing the directions of Joint Director, Forest Protection Force, Irfan Rasool Wani, to conduct frequent anti-smuggling operations during the month of Ramadan, a team of Forest Protection Force, Baramulla under the command of Manmeet Singh, Assistant Director in association with the forest territorial staff has apprehended a notorious timber smuggler.
The notorious timber smuggler was identified as Nazir Ahmad Gojri alias Nazir Cobra. The Maruti car bearing registration number JK05-6113 which was laden with illicit timber was also seized.
The operation was conducted at Binner, Venkura Road, Baramulla.
The culprit was handed-over to the Police Station Baramulla and a case FIR Number 70/2022 under Section-379 IPC and Section-26 IFA, 1927 has been registered against him and investigation started.
