3 attempts of bovine smuggling foiled

REASI, Apr 29: Foiling three separate attempts of bovine smuggling, District Police seized two vehicles besides arresting the smugglers and rescued eight bovines, here today.
Reports said that team of Police Station Arnas intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK20B- 3978 and rescued two bovines from the possession of bovine smuggler namely Firdous Ahmed son of Roshan Din of Thuroo, Tehsil Arnas.
Similarly, team of Police Post Thanole foiled bovines smuggling attempt in Thanole area by intercepting one smuggler namely Mohd. Riaz son of Mohd Shafi of Tulli, Tehsil Chassana. Two bovines were rescued from his possession.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 61/2022 U/S 188 IPC and 11 (1)(a) PCA Act. has been registered at Police Station Arnas.
In another success, team of Police Post Dera Baba intercepted a mini tipper bearing registration number JK02AP- 9106 and rescued four bovines. However taking the advantage of darkness, smugglers managed to flee from the spot. In this regard, case FIR number 100 U/S 188, 11(a) PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi.
SSP Reasi Amit Gupta has conveyed that subordinate formations are being regularly briefed to eradicate the menace of bovine smuggling in the region.
