UDHAMPUR, May 1: Shiv Sena J&K unit has expressed disappointment over failure of the BJP led Government at the Centre in restoring statehood of Jammu and Kashmir despite passing of more than two and half years.
This was stated by Manish Sahni, President J&K Shiv Sena while speaking at the joining programme held at Udhampur. In the programme, dozens of people joined the party fold in presence of Manish Sahni who demanded restoration of statehood before the holding Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sahni recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised on the floor of the House on August 2019 to restore the statehood to people of Jammu and Kashmir soon but till date nothing has been done in this regard.
He alleged that the Central Government was going back on all its promises made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. With the passage of time, all the dreams and promises shown for development, employment and restoration of peace on the reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir are getting shattered, he added.
Sahni alleged that BJP was only trying to befool the people by claiming that abrogation of Art 370 is a great step that has paved way for development and employment removing all the hurdles. He accused the BJP of misleading the public on all the significant issues.
“Despite being directly under the Centre, development, employment and prosperity at the grassroots level are not visible anywhere in J&K. The public has got nothing except toll plazas, liquor shops, inflation and unemployment,” Sahni said, adding that the hateful politics of religion and castism were dominating the common issues of the people.
Sahni said that Shiv Sena will raise its voice in high pitch for securing the rights of the people of J&K and the public should also remember the betrayal happening to them and give a befitting reply when the time comes.
Others present there included General Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Udhampur in-charge Ashwani Prabhakar, District prabhari Sanjeev Sharma, Rajesh Handa and General Secretary Anil Vijay.
On the occasion, Sahni announced Ajay Gupta as District Kamghar President, Rashiv Khajuria as Youth Unit President and Amit Sharim as Spokesperson.
