Kathua police rescues 6 bovines, arrests smuggler

KATHUA, May 1: In continuation to thwart the conspiracies of bovine smuggling from the society, District Police, Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal-today succeeded in foiling bovine smuggling attempt near New Toll Plaza Lakhanpur; rescued six bovines, arrested one person and seized one vehicle involved in bovine smuggling.
As per police a team led by Inspector, Vijay Kotwal SHO Police Station (PS), Lakhanpur under the supervision of DySP DAR Kathua, Sukhdev Singh while on Naka/checking duty near New Toll Plaza Lakhanpur noticed one suspicious Vehicle (Canter) bearing Registration Number, PB09X-0574 enrouted from Punjab towards Jammu which was being driven by a person namely Sucha Singh, son of Dayal Singh of Thakur Dwara tehsil Indore, district Kangra.
On thorough checking, police team was able to found six bovines which were being transported without any legal permission. Thereafter all the bovines were rescued, one person was arrested and the vehicle involved was seized. Accordingly a case FIR No. 41/2022 U/S 420/188/ IPC Act, 11PCA act was registered at Police Station Lakhanpur and further investigation into this matter has been initiated.
