Asks docs to write generic drugs

Jammu, May 2: Principal & Dean GMC,Jammu Dr.Shashi Sudan Sharma held meetings with the HoDs, Faculty & Officers of the administration of GMC Rajouri. She reviewed the the staff strength & working of all the Departments and exhorted the Faculty & the Staff Members to work with sincerity & dedication.
She further said that every effort should be made to decrease the referrals & everyone should work to provide the best healthcare services to the Patients. Thereafter,She visited the various Departments of the College & different Sectios/ Wards of the Hospital and reviewed the facilities being provided to the Students & the patients.
She urged the Clinicians to write generic medicines only in order to decrese the medicine bills of the patients attending OPDs. She directed the MS to ensure the enrollment of more than 90 percent of the Patients in the AB-PMJAP-Sehat Scheme so that the benefit of the scheme reaches to the maximum people
She further directed the HoDs, Med.Suptd. & the accounts and Planning officers to utilise the allocated budget at the earliest for the benefit of the Patients and give wide publicity to the Govt.Schemes to create awareness so that max. people are benefitted.
It is pertinent to mention here that Dr Shashi Sudan Sharma remained as Principal GMC,Kathua where she established the College and got the first batch of 100 MBBS students allotted through BOPEE after fulfilling the conditions of the MCI after lot of hardwork within a short span of one year.
She was appointed as Principal GMC,Jammu in October 2020 at the peak of 2nd wave of COVID-19.
She is working tirelessly with a dream of making GMC,Jammu a Postgraduate Institute at par with the best in the Country.
