Murder plot foiled; notorious criminal nabbed with pistol, live rounds

JAMMU, May 3: RS Pura Police foiled a murder plot with the arrest of a notorious criminal along with country made pistol and live rounds.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station RS Pura led by SHO Inspector Jai Pal Sharma under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh laid a naka and apprehended a notorious criminal along with country made pistol and two live rounds.
The accused was identified as Sunil Kumar alias Gokul, son of Tarsem Lal, a resident of Chak Aslam Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu.
It is pertinent to mention here that the said accused was booked under stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) twice and was released recently after completion of his detention period. Around 8 FIRs of different nature including assault, attempt to murder and Arms Act also stands registered against the said notorious criminal with Police Station RS Pura.
It is presumed that the said notorious criminal was on his way to eliminate his rival, but with arrest, police thwarted a murder plot.
A fresh case FIR Number 75/2022 under Section 3/25 Arms Act has been registered against the said notorious criminal and investigation started.
