NC stands for upholding secular traditions: Rampal

JAMMU, May 3: Former Minister and president, National Conference, Central Jammu (Jammu, Samba and Kathua), Babu Rampal has demanded the replacement of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) with old ballot system in the forthcoming J&K assembly polls.
Addressing a series of meetings with different party committees of Kathua district, he said that credibility of EVMs were under scanner and there are doubts regarding its use and keeping in view the same the Election Commission should use the traditional battle system.
The meetings were held to discuss the current political scenario and issues related to the cadre. He called upon the party functionaries to extensively carry out mass outreach programme and make people aware about the party policies especially the vision for youth.
He reiterated the party’s demand for restoration of full statehood to Jammu & Kashmir before the announcement of assembly elections. “J&K has suffered a lot since the abrogation of state status as in the absence of popular Government people are feeling suffocated due to their continuous neglect on all fronts,” he added.
The delegations were led by Ajit (Kathua Urban president), Sham Mehta (president, Kathua Rural B) and Sham Lal Mehra (coordinator, Kathua Rural B).
