REASI, May 5: Principal Sessions Judge Reasi RN Wattal has rejected the bail application of 77 years old Saiyan, who was arrested under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
“The modesty of a minor girl is alleged to have been outraged by the petitioner, inhabitants of the area are in a state of shock when heard about the attempt to rape of a minor prosecutrix by the accused”, the court said, adding “any concession of bail in favour of the petitioner will shatter the faith that a common man has got in this prestigious institution”.
“The rape victim is physically and psychological shattered, she carries the scar of rape through out of her life. The male dominated society looks down on a rape victim. Any concession of bail shall positively boot those who believe in exploiting the woman folk for their sexual lust”, the court said while rejecting the bail application.
