JAMMU, May 6: SSP Traffic Rural Jammu Mohan Lal Kaith along with the concerned Territorial Traffic Supervisory Officers had launched a special drive against the traffic violators for non-fixation of High Security Registration Plates (HSRPs) in all districts of Traffic Rural Jammu.
During special drive, 194 challans against the violators for non-fixation of High Security Registration Plates (HSRPs) have been imposed and fine of amounting to Rs 62,600 was realized and 9 vehicles were seized.
SSP had stressed upon the Enforcement Officers of Traffic Rural, Jammu to impose special and random traffic nakas in their respective areas and take stringent action under the provisions of new amended MV Act against the traffic violators. The special focus should be maintained over HSRPs & other visible offences, he added.
Moreover, special awareness events be organized to awake the general public especially youth about the Traffic Laws and other road safety measures.
The Officer especially focused on the challaning officers to ensure proper discipline, accountability and transparency in the traffic management system and also urged the general public for installation of HSRPs (High Security Registration Plates) in their respective vehicles through concerned RTOs/ARTOs within 15th of May-2022, as per the standing directions of Govt. of J&K (UT), failing which strict action under MV Act against the vehicle owners, who use vehicles without number plates will be taken being a huge security risk.
