Srinagar, May 8: Police today arrested a drug peddler in Pulwama and recovered psychotropic substances from his possession.
Officers from PS Pulwama at a checkpoint established near Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School Pulwama intercepted a vehicle (Tata Magic Auto) bearing registration number JK13B-5184 driven by Salman Ahmad Mir, son of Mohd Abdullah, resident of Tenghard Pulwama.
“During the search, 05 bottles of Codeine Phosphate were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized,” police said.
Accordingly, police said, a case vide FIR No. 119/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pulwama and further investigation has been initiated.
