Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 73 cattle rescued, five arrested

JAMMU, May 8: Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 73 cattle and arresting five persons.
As per police sources, teams from Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli laid checking points in their respective jurisdictions and intercepted seven Kashmir bound vehicles.
During checking, police teams rescued 73 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested five persons, who were identified as Mohd Khalid of Pahalgam District Anantnag, Maqsood Ahmed of Raipur, District Jammu, Mohd Ishaq of Hind Chachwa Tehsil Gool District Ramban, Mumtaz of Kokernag District Anantnag and Mohd Rafiq of Tehsil Pouni District Reasi.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Police teams led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh and SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Vikram Sharma foiled the bids under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar.
