JAMMU, May 9: JKPCC working president today said that Congress Party is committed to upliftment of poor, unprivileged and downtrodden people.
Bhalla said no one can erase it from the memory of any Indian that it was none other than late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who was the first to recognize the political might wielded by the poor yet languishing at the bottom of so literally moved by the prevalence of poverty in this country that she decided to showcase poverty as the most lethal political weapon during the 1971 General Election while giving the clarion call of ‘Garibi Mitao.
The former Minister was interacting with aggrieved people of Qasim Nagar, Bahu Fort. He said BJP Government has utterly failed to fulfill basic necessities of common man in J&K. He said BJP has dismayed and disappointed their respective electorate besides exposing their hollow and false commitment to their slogans always used by them to hoodwink the people. He said that the governance failures writ large in almost every field, adding to the miseries of each and every section of the society.
“The Government has failed to ensure delivery at the basic levels like availability of power, health, education sector & unemployment besides rehabilitation of affected people and the farmers. The employees of different categories including teachers, daily wagers, casual and need based workers and other such categories of people are regularly seen on protests for their just and genuine demands. This kind of situation has disappointed every common man who is already facing the brunt of sky rocketing prices of all essential commodities and items of daily use,” Bhalla added.
The former Minister said that Congress always took land mark steps to uplift the downtrodden & poor sections of the society and ensured the participation of the deprived sections in every sphere of life and appealed the people of different shades of the society to come under the umbrella of Congress party in order to strengthen the social and secular fabric of the state and ensure the overall development of each and every sections of the society.
