KATRA, May 9: Continuing the drive against drug abuse, Katra Police arrested five drug peddlers in four different cases and seized narcotics from their possession.
Teams of Police Station Katra, under the supervision of SDPO Katra Kuljeet Singh, raided various locations in Katra town and arrested five notorious drug peddlers, including a woman. Police also recovered 9.10 gms of Heroin and 320 gms of marijuana from their possessions.
The accused, were identified as Mohd Farooq, son of Rashid of Pouni, Maya Mir, wife of Anwar Mir of Katra, Bobby Singh ,son of Sher Singh of Panthal, Katra, Rohan, son of Roshan of Railway Road, Katra and Koshindra Rana son of Charan Singh of Shamli, Uttar Pradesh.
While sharing the details, SSP Reasi, Amit Gupta said that Reasi Police was committed to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and illicit liquor smuggling from the area and people from all sections of the society should come forward and join hands with Police to strengthen anti-narcotics drive of district Police Reasi which is must to save our future generations.
