JAMMU, May 13: A 15-member delegation of incharge lecturers, officers and teachers led by Amar Nath Thakur (president, Plus 2 DPC Lecturers’ Forum and chairman JKTF) today met Principal Secretary School Education Department (SED) B K Singh and projected their demands.
The demands that were taken up with BK Singh include regularization of all incharge gazetted officers and lecturers by convening DPC meeting before May 31, transfers of lecturers/masters/teachers, promotion of masters to headmasters and teachers to masters, filling all vacant posts of lecturers, promotion and rationalization of teaching staff, issuance of confirmation orders of incharge lecturers whose names have been cleared in DPC held earlier and regularizing all incharge lecturers by implementing judgment of Central Administrative Tribunal.
During the meeting, Amar Nath Thakur told the Principal Secretary that 243 primary schools are closed in Kathua district and 5000 in whole J&K. He said services of all those ReT teachers whose schools are closed or clubbed cane be utilized in remote areas.
The Principal Secretary assured the delegation that soon promotion orders of 600 masters as look-after headmasters of Jammu division would be issued tomorrow. He further told them that the promotion orders would be issued at the earliest to fill vacant posts of lecturers.
Earlier, the delegation met Director School Education Jammu and requested him to confirm teachers promoted in July 2018 from lab assistant of Kathua district.
Those who were part of the delegation include Parveen Singh (president JKGTF), Vijay Kumar Sharma (general secretary, JKGTF), Jagdev Singh, Sudesh Kumar, Pawan Abrol, Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Jaswant Singh, Jagdish Chander Sharma, Tarseem Lal, Pankaj Khajuria and Neelam Kumari.
