UDHAMPUR, May 15: Taking a dig at the critics of ruling dispensation for their ‘misleading’ campaign, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today said that even those who made fun of the BJP workers were ready to join the saffron bandwagon, which was a vindication of policies and performance of the Modi- led Government.

“Those who mocked us for being the Karyakartas of BJP, are ready to join us and hold the BJP’s flag because they have realised that this is the only truly democratic party of independent India, which gives opportunity to its workers based on merit and not on considerations of dynastic or family lineage,” he said, while addressing an impressive gathering of BJP workers and supporters, here today.
Highlighting achievements of the Government in last seven years, Dr Jitendra Singh also pooh-poohed the so called social media warriors for their ‘mischievous’ posts and mocked that it was a fashion to take a picture in front of an unconstructed pathway and then post on social media mentioning that there was no road.
“It is like constructing a house with a dozen water taps and then just to show down the owner of the house takes a picture of the wall without a tap and asks where are the taps in the house,” he jeered and referred to the landmark projects like Devika project, Centrally funded Medical College, Devika bridge, Mantalai Centre and network of roads and bridges.
“What (development) has been done in these seven years of this Government and still going on, was never seen in the last 70 years but our critics are still unable to feel the change because of their prejudiced mind,” he added.
Dr Jitendra Singh reiterated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP has imparted a new political culture based on reaching out to those who needed the most and providing opportunity to those who have been deprived, without any appeasement of any section and then leaving it to the wisdom of the common voter to decide whom he should elect or not to elect.
Referring to Udhampur, Dr Jitendra Singh said, it is true with evidence that the development of the last eight years through Central funds has surpassed the development of the last 70 years. He pointed out that for the last three consecutive years, Udhampur has been rated number one in PMGSY road construction by the Central team of the Modi Government.
On the occasion, more than four dozen leaders joined BJP and they included virtually all the Panches, Sarpanches, BDCs, DDCs and PRIs of district Udhampur. Welcoming them into the Party fold, Dr Jitendra Singh said, he is hugely vindicated today because when he had himself joined BJP several years ago after quitting a lucrative Government job, people made fun of him and were surprised because in those days even after retirement, the trend in J&K was to join either Congress or National Conference.
Pawan Khajuria, J&K BJP vice President, appreciated the leadership qualities of Dr Jitendra Singh and said that it is a matter of pride for them that the MP elected by them has reached such heights of glory at the national level because of his caliber and hard work. He said, the mammoth public rally in Udhampur is unprecedented and undoubted show of strength in support of BJP and extraordinary development that has happened in the last eight years.
