Shaheen expresses concern over lack of basic facilities in remote villages of Neel

BANIHAL, May 19: National Conference leader and district president Ramban Sajjad Shaheen today expressed grave concern over erratic power supply and lack of basic amenities in far flung areas of Banihal Assembly Constituency.
During his day-long extensive tour to various villages in Neel area, Shaheen, while interacting with the people, decried the neglect of the present dispensation due to administrative inertia.
He said that there is no mention of development in the to-do-list of the Government in Jammu & Kashmir saying that the far flung areas have become a byword of widespread and inescapable poverty, unemployment and development deficit.
Shaheen also said that administration is clueless about people’s sufferings in far off areas and has made no efforts to alleviate the concerns of the people of J&K as people find themselves in dire straits “Baffled and confused they do not know from where to get their problems redressed”. He visited several villages including Gagoni, Barmuji, Bohardar and Chidwas and during interaction in these villages the people complained about scarcity of drinking water.
He said the road network is also in a dilapidated condition that has impacted the mobility and added to the miseries of the people. He particularly referred to the bad shape of the Chamalwas – Neel road, saying no effort is being made to improve and upgrade it. The District President urged the R&B Department for taking up restoration and upgradation works on immediate bases.
Shaheen also drew the attention of the Government towards deficiencies in education and health sectors and sought immediate filling up of vacant posts as also stocking of adequate quantity of medicines in the healthcare institutions.
Party block presidents of Neel, Ukharhal and Ramsoo Ghulam Rasool Deng, Riyaz Ahmed Mir and Nisar Ahmed Sohil, besides Youth district secretary Musharraf Ahmed Naik and block vice president Manzoor Ahmed Sheikh accompanied the district president during his tour.
