Absconder arrested after 17 yrs

JAMMU, May 19: Bathindi Police arrested an absconder, who was evading his arrest from the past 17 years.
As per police sources, on reliable information a team from Police Post Bathindi led by PSI Mohammad Younis Khanday under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Nayat Ali and SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari conducted raid and apprehended an absconder, who was at large since 2005.
The accused was identified as Bashir Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mustafa of Narwal Bala District Jammu.
He was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 231/2002 under Sections 307, 341 and 147 RPC and 4/25 Arms Act with Police Station Bahu Fort.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
